About RVSB

The RVSB initiative was created in partnership with the Seattle Office of Economic Development (OED) to promote a fair and inclusive future for small businesses in the Rainier Valley area. Its goal is to support a diverse range of small business owners and ensure they have access to equal opportunities.

Our Research

In 2022, RVSB launched its first study to identify critical challenges and opportunities facing diverse small business owners in Rainier Valley. The resulting report is a baseline for future RVSB work and includes recommendations for OED current and future policy.

The Seattle Office of Economic Development (OED) is working to improve its support for small business owners in Rainier Valley. From McClellan to Rainier Beach, OED recognizes Rainier Valley as one of Seattle’s most diverse areas, comprised of several rapidly changing and vital business districts. This site is part of the Rainier Valley Small Business (RVSB) project which aims to support small business owners and entrepreneurs on their journies to economic stability and growth.
